Keynote: Integrating Sustainability Across the Curriculum

Paul Turner is Education Lead for the Ministry of Eco Education, a charity supporting schools to embed sustainability across their existing curriculum by bringing together the best resources and opportunities already out there. MEE uses a framework supported by real world examples and linked to the national curriculum. The keynote will demonstrate takeaway examples and analogies to help anyone communicate the climate and nature crisis in a dynamic and age-appropriate manner. Attendees will also explore and have access to the full Ministry of Eco Education support

The Mary Anning Project is a multidisciplinary approach for pupils aged 9 to 11 years, helping them learn about fossils and evolution, while simultaneously nurturing creativity, a love of learning and developing the necessary knowledge and skills to support them in life. Find out how you can use our multi-award-winning film and interactive resources to engage your young people in the story of Mary Anning, the fossil hunter. Supporting dialogic teaching, the Mary Anning Project helps pupils express and share ideas through group and whole class discussion. We hope you can join us.

Primary Workshop - Seashore Science

Learning science at the beach offers all the benefits of outdoor learning as well as specific opportunities to encourage awareness of environmental issues such as plastic pollution and global warming. Seashore Science is a set of 15 ‘ready to go’ practical science lessons, requiring minimal preparation and equipment, and linked to UK science curricula. In this workshop we will carry out some of the practical activities and consider how these support children’s learning.
